Comments Thread For: Officials Named For Quillin vs. Konecny Title Fight

Lukas Konecny already faced an uphill challenge the moment he accepted assignment versus unbeaten middleweight titlist Peter Quillin. An additional hurdle has now been put in place, with four U.S.-based officials named for his title challenge in Washington D.C. this Saturday.

Veteran referee Kenny Chevalier has been tabbed as third man for this weekend***8217;s middleweight title fight, which serves as the televised opener of a scheduled SHOWTIME tripleheader. The three judges named for the bout are William Lerch, Michael Pernick and Steven Rados. All three judges are from the United States, with Rados (Washington D.C.) and Chevalier (Maryland) locally based.

None of the four officials have previously worked bouts involving either fighter. [Click Here To Read More]

They've just been talking about making it..... Schaeffer says it's next... he also said it was next last year.

Quillin could finally do a main event if it happens

Quillin, IMO over rated, has fought guys some guys w/good records but never a real elite...judges don't matter...pernick again? he's turning in2 a real judging whore, works, it seems w/all bodies xcept wbc...he must have something on some 1, he's only average...

Konecny gonna have to knock Quillin out to win one round. GBP protecting Quillin so much they're even shook of Konecny.

Yea.... this is the fight that should be next....put that on Canelo's undercard and that'd be interesting....but he should try and push to have a main in Brooklyn

IMO, if they put that fight on the undercard, expect it to set up a Canelo fight

With the Cold War going on between the networks what else is Quillin supposed to do but keep busy fighting the top ranked challengers to his belt?

Konecny is ranked #2 so at least he's meeting those obligations. If a Danny Jacobs fight happens next then he's doing everything he can as far as I'm concerned.
