Canelo - An example to ALL boxers - giving the bird to the WBA

Deciding not to pay the WBA sanction fee to make the Lara fight a 'world title fight' because he recognises Mayweather as the legit WBA champion.

I fully endorse that, great work, Canelo.

Scott Quigg - take note. You're NOT a world champion, Rigo is.

This applies to any other fighters.

I hope more take Canelo's stance and refuse to line the pockets of these vile corrupt cnuts.

Canelo refuses to fight for the WBA 'regular' belt because he doesn't want the fight to happen at 154 (Canelo-Lara will be fought at 155).

He fought for the same 'regular' belt against Trout in what was officially a unification fight, even though Floyd was already the "real" WBA champion. What made him change his mind?

I think it's a good thing, because those 'regular' and interim titles are bull****, but let's not act like the WBA having two champs is the real reason why Canelo refuses to fight for the belt. It's just convenient for him.

I kinda agree with you ...

Now he is famous enough and dont need the WBA thats the real reason.

Smart move but it doesnt have to do with canelo "recognizing" floyd as the real champ, its just a good enough reason for the main public to buy.

Still im anxious to see the fight, i am going with Canelo i know here many think low of the guy but he can really fight.

All that belt is is money out of his pocket. I could care less if it's on the line, this is the best fight in the division and that's all that matters.

Canelo has a healthy confidence, man. He refused to bow to Mayweather in any form in outspoken fashion during their promotional tour - a guy he undoubtedly grew up admiring and looking up to. He's punked a TV network and one of the major sanctioning bodies. And he's supposedly just getting started.

Canelo can definitely fight, and I think his fights against Trout and Floyd could help him against Lara. However, you can't change your style overnight, and on paper, Lara is not a good style matchup for him.

It is bad enough that we have all these titles now we have more than one champ in some sanctioning bodies.

I endorse what Canelo is doing. If it is not the full title it is meaningless plus he has star power already and don't need fringe titles.

Been waiting for a fighter to do this. Khan should've done the same with the "Silver Belt" nonsense for his fight.

                  No TS. NO.

You are being fooled by the "smoke and mirrors" put on by GBP.

They are NOT making it a tittle fight so Canelo can come in OVER the 154lb limit. That is the sole reason.

They want to make this fight at 155-156lb so Canelo could have an even larger weight advantage. Dude overgrew the 54 div, and don't want to move to 60 where he'll get his azz handled over to him. So, as always he will continue to get the size advantage just like he did through his career.

He was "given" a tittle over an undersized opponent, and all the rest of his victories are over undersized opponents.

Stop supporting the fraud. Stop supporting the hyperjob.

This guy had the chance to make a great fight by making the 154lb limit, instead, chooses to bypass it and cheat the scales.

I recall Floyd Mayweather doing the same thing with Mosley's WBA WW belt... and he didn't fight him on some gay 148 pounds catchweight.
He truly gave the WBA the bird as opposed to using it to justify yet another catchweight.
