boxing "fans" who started watching boxing yesterday will be quick to cite hatton/cotto, and how pacquiao destroyed the guys who dominated/TKO'd paulie. they might even say paulie couldnt beat pacquiaos ex sparring partner (khan). most people will laugh at this claim because they dont realize styles make fights..
the bottom line though is that malignaggi is a bad matchup for pac. paulies jab will be in mannys face all night and will manny will never get a chance to set his feet. he will be trying to throw his combos but paulie will either block or avoid most of them. anything that does get through wont hurt paulie for 2 reasons:
1. paulies chin is solid
2. pacs power is overrated and has diminished greatly in recent years (no knockout in 8 fights)
what we have here is a fighter whos more athletically gifted but less technical, versus a fighter who is not as gifted, but more technically versed in the science of boxing. in a fight like this, my money is on the boxer, especially when the boxer has a good chin. pac would NOT stop paulie. paulie wins 116-112
