He may not, but I have. Guys have tried to start on me and i've knocked them down with the first punch. They didn't get back up until I let them, either. Regular guys dunno what hit them when a boxer whacks them simply because they haven't trained their technique and don't really know how to put power into their shots (granted though, some people can hit hard enough to knock you down without training, but a boxer should always hit harder).

A long time ago when i was jus startin to get good at boxing i felt i always had to fight on the streets to prove myself, plus every1 was always callin em out knowin i box. Knowin how ot box is SUCH an advantage. Street fighters are so unaware of counter punches and defense and cant fight for more than like 30 seconds. They are to easy to counterpunch and just hit in general if u kno how to throw a punch. But if you box u shood not be getting into street fights. I learned that the hard way. Boxing is not for the streets, its for the gym and the ring. You should never be using ur boxing skills jus to show off on the streets, thats not a true boxer thats just some punk that wants to be tough and will never end up being a great boxer caus ethere is no real love for the sport.

honestly though when a trained fighter is fightin some cat of the streets its ******. The cat off the streets prolly will an usually does get really hurt pretty bad. Like i said before, if you are a trained fighter u should not be using ur skills on teh streets, us eit in the gym ad=nd the ring. Only fight on the streets if you absolutely have yoo.

As I've said before, it depends. I've seen boxers get their asses kicked on the street and I've seen boxers kick some ass on the street.

my advice to Zonic- homey if u box dont be using what u learn on the streets. You have to learn to ignore what people say that like it wont help u and all that, because it will help you and deep down ull kno that and it wont matter what they think. Thats why ive learned. Just givin u some advice, id hate to see someone make some of the same mistakes i did.

The only boxers taht get their ass kicked on the street is nigas that suck at boxing. I mean not every1 that boxes is actually good at boxing. But kids who really know what they are doing will *** someone up in a street fight.

I gotta say boxing does help alot. I got into a talking match with a guy one time, and I'd started boxing several months before. Then the guy started swinging on me out of no where and hit me with some pretty good shots. I'm a better wrestler then I am a boxer, and I took the guy down and started trying to punch him on the ground, but I got pulled off. Later, he came to me again wanting to fight some more, and I hit him in the chin and knocked him down. I walked away and he was still lying there. I'm pretty damn sure the boxing experience helped me take his shots and lay him out, but I do try to avoid those situations more since.

For anyone that says boxing won't help in a streetfight, well you are either uneducated when it comes to fighting, or you are a ****ing moron. Boxing is one of the best combat arts in the world. Boxing teaches you to take punches, and nobody punches better than a boxer. It is better to punch than kick in a street fight for the fact it is easier to slip and fall when kicking.

I think Muay Thai training might be better in a street fight because of the use of elbows and knees. It would be better to use elbows and knees because it is so easy to break your hand without protection.

If it is a one on one fight, the most effective form of street fighting would be some kind of grappling, namely Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu made famous by Royce Gracie in the UFC. It is quite easy for a decent grappler to make short work of even the best of boxers in a one on one streetfight due to the fact a decent grappler can easily take the fight to the ground, where the boxer is defensless. This has been proven time and time again.

One problem with a streetfight and just using your hands is if the other guy is a lot bigger and stronger it can be dangerous to trade blows with him. It is much harder for a little guy to **** with a bigger guy, whereas if the little guy was a better grappler he could more easily choke out his bigger opponent.

This is why to be a Complete fighter, one should train in the striking and the grappling arts, because you never know what is going to happen in a streetfight.

Saying this, I reiterate that boxing is one of the top combat arts and is highly effective in a streetfight. Krav Maga is good as well, as they train for street situations and teach some devastating techniques.
