Comments Thread For: Arum Plans Further Push Into The Chinese Market

Promoter Bob Arum is continuing his push to build pro boxing's profile in China with a weekly television program devoted to the Sweet Science that will begin airing there in May.

Arum, founder of Top Rank Boxing, has already moved to tap into the potentially massive -- and lucrative -- Chinese audience for a sport that was banned under Mao Zedong for its violence and tang of the West.

Top Rank is carefully crafting the pro career of China's two-time Olympic champion Zou Shiming, who made his professional debut on a Top Rank card in Macau in April of last year.

That's why Oscar has been trying hard to make peace with Arum. I could see the old man retiring in no time. It's a waste for these amateurs at GBP not to take advantage of working once again with the veteran in the business before he leaves the sport.

That's his best bet since HBO will broadcast it on HBO 2 and Venetian will front the money as long as Shiming is on it

Someone gets it.it amazes me how these youngin's on here throw arum under the bus over Mayweather while failing to acknowlege how many historic ground breaking fights he was involved in even before floyd and manny were more than twinkle in their daddies eyes..hate or love arum one thing we can't deny is this man has been involved in the careers of arguably four of the top ten fighters of all time..hell i'll go on a limb and say if not for Arum's government affiliation rumble in the jungle may have been rumble in detroit or rumble in london.

Reports about the GBP rift is all over the net. Oscar is angry. There are also reports that they're not doing well financially.
