Comments Thread For: DeGale: Froch is an Easier Fight For Me Than Groves

James DeGale will fight Brandon Gonzales on the Carl Froch v George Groves undercard - with the two winners to meet for the world title later in the year.

The Londoner announced his split from promoter Mick Hennessy last week and has joined Eddie Hearn's growing stable of Matchroom Sport fighters.

DeGale edged closer to a WBC super-middleweight title shot with a stoppage win over Gevorg Khatchikian last month and Hearn confirmed at a media conference to announce the deal that DeGale will fight Gonzales at Wembley on May 31.

I think Brandon Gonzales might be surprised at the amount of support he has inside Wembley on 31 May! Chunky is such a donut.

I can just imagine what Froch would do to this clown when he does his usual rolling about on the ropes!

this could be a potential banana skin opponent seeing as one thing is for sure this opponent has decent technique and degale throws those slapping type punches not the kovalev/pacquio type ones.

                I was thinking this too.

                It would get messy quickly.

It is also the reason I sort of suspect Bika would make a mess of him.

I know he says he had bad knees but I dunno. It is a conscious decision he takes to put himself on the ropes because he feels comfortable. Froch would stop him, surely.

Chunky has not been given a chance to shine in last few years. He won vs Groves arguably and has never been beaten up in any of his wins nor awarded a gift decision. Whenever Degale has stepped up he has proven he belongs when he smashed Paul Smith for the British title and beat a respectable fellow for the European one and all that in 12 fights in a talent deep division of 168lbs. He is now with the right team that will get him "meaningful" fights, which had been Degale's problem recently.

His fight vs Gonzalez is gonna show us if Chunky belongs or not. Ive seen Gonzalez and have faith Chunky will do a job on him.
