After seing tonite's card you could be right or Viloria just wasnt ready or himself.

Bro analyze it objectively. I don't think Villoria is not ready or wasn't himself.

Look, he fought a former Champ who has succesfully defended the title 7 times. Aguirre has 38 fights with 34 victories. And for Villoria having mere 18 fights in his belt getting a UD against Aguirre is already quite an accomplishment.

You don't expect a guy with 18 fights to be dominating a guy with 38 fights, isn't that real?

I agree with all those who say Viloria still needs to tuck in a few more fights before facing Arce and Viloria himself says he needs those fights, quote: "at 108 before moving to 112".

I'm also wondering since Viloria and PAC are stablemates maybe the sparring with PAC has already conditioned his mind and body to take on any bombs Arce puts on the table?

I mean PAC is every bit a volume puncher that Arce is and P4P has more K.O. power over Arce.
who sez viloria is sparring with pac??? theyre on both camps BUT they dont spar. my goodness.

arce vs viloria... after viloria's fight today, i'd say arce by KO... viloria is overrated... i don't know if he and roach had some test-driving to do for new strategy but it was a below-expectation fight for viloria... arce is relentless, has power in both hands and is just fierce... if viloria easily backs off from those mediocre punches of aguirre, then arce will own him big tym!

Good question. I have a few suggestions and you and the others may have better ones. Here are mine: (Note: it is difficult to squeeze in three fights for Viloria if his meeting with Arce is to be in the undercard of Pac-Erik 3 in Sept. Be that as it may...)

                1. Roberto Vasquez of Panama, whose 21-1 record includes a stoppage of Aguirre. Although Jose Antonio deposited Vasquez on the canvass in the 2nd, he had to quit in the 4th due to a cut on his left eyelid.

In his last fight, Vasquez was KD'd by Nerys Espinoza in the third but rallied to return the favor in the 10th before winning by a resounding UD.

Vasquez, though is facing Noel Arambulet late April to defend his WBA version of the Light Fly crown. A meeting between Vasquez and Viloria, as a unification match, is very marketable and can be made in August. But if the idea is to have Viloria meet Arce in the Sept undercard of Pac-Erik, this won't happen. On the other hand, if the Viloria-Arce meeting can be arranged for some time next year, the Vasquez-Viloria unification, to me, is a good fight to consider.

                2. But if Arce cannot wait, Viloria can therefore meet Beibis Mendoza of Columbia who held Rosendo Alvarez to a near draw (the result was SD). Beibis had 4 meetings with Rosendo, three of which he lost either by Split or Majority Decisions and the fourth he won when Alvarez was disqualified for low blows. Mitch Halpern, the ref who DQd Alvarez committed suicide a week or so after the fight. I dunno if the suicide had anything to do with the ring decision.

Mendoza is dangerous, having 24 stoppages in 30 wins with only 4 losses. His four losses were only to Alvarez and Vasquez; the latter was the only one who stopped him-- in the 10th, KO.

They can meet in late May or early June.

                3. Hugo Cazares is WBO champ and a very active one. In a period of 6 months, last year, he won the title and defended it 2 times-- three title fights all told. Busy, busy, busy. He has a record of 22-3 with 16 stoppages and at age 27, he appears to be briskly making up for lost time.

                4. Victor Burgos, who administered Jorge Arce's 2nd loss, and just recently lost his IBF title. He's the fella who sent the highly-and-widely-rated Alex Sanchez to retirement.

To seriously test the waters at 112, Brian can face Hussein Hussein or Rosendo Alvarez (who is slated to meet Arce).

These suggestions might look like I'm putting Viloria in harm's way. Not my intention. It's just that I think Viloria should now rachet up the quality of his competition. Otherwise, his fan support (which in most parts is a spill-over from Pac) would just whittle away.

Of course there are those who think that Brian should be eased up the ladder. All I'm thinking is that he's champ and should prove that he deserves the strap around his waist. And that he has a good chance against Arce.

Edit: Thanks for asking for my suggestions.

viloria is not raedy for arce, if he fights arce now he will be beaten, and arce is saying he cant wait so either brian steps up and hopes arce now will be diff from arce vs hussein 1 and 2(which is like moving heaven and earth) or he forgets about arce and just continue to improve and dominate the div
