Tarver Vs Hopkins: Good or bad....

This fight looks like its going ahead. Hopkins, as old as he is must have a chance of winning it but i would have to favour Tarver. Is anyone up for this fight?

Hopkins goes to sleep in this fight. Tarver knows the only way to improve his legacy is to KO B-Hop. A UD will not do it. It should be KO or nothing for the Magic Man.

It is good that it is happening...

I know people will complain and say it will be boring...but if you are REALLY a boxing fan, you would go into this fight EXPECTING it to possibly be boring...

just remember, ANY man with two hands and intent to hurt you, CAN hurt you...

          Tarver wins this easy.

Another southpaw who has excellent counter skills and power will put B-hop to sleep. Tarver has skills no matter what you say about the man.

its bad for boxing, another boring fight.

Tarver should move up to Heavyweight and fight Toney.

Its a bad fight because everyone has to remember that Hopkins is 40 years old and will be closer to 41 come fight time. THis matchup puts Hopkins at a serious disadvantage and he is basically stacking the deck against himself. Tarver is a naturally heavier man. He has been a true lightheavweight from the onset. Hopkins is gaining weight in order to fight him, Hopkins has been a middleweight for almost his whole career and he is not even taking a tuneup yet he is jumping up 15 punds in weight to challenge Tarver. Secondly Tarver is still the younger man and has the advantage in age and youthful exuberance. I dont know if you all remember the young Hopkins but Hopkins would wear you down with body punches and rough you up. Nowadays as an old man Hopkins has become a counter puncher and he doesnt fight the same as he used to. Another advantage for Tarver.

On fight Night Tarver will outweight him and Tarver might weigh in at 174 or 175 but come fight night Tarver will weigh in at 190 or so, While Hopkins is going to have to work just to make it to 175. Do you all not remember when Hopkins fought De La Hoya? He was so lean and fit he almost came in at Junior Middle Weight, and there is never an ounce of fat on the man so building up to that weight is going to be a problem in such a short time. Having said this Tarver will beat an old Bernard Hopkins but beating an old 40 year old man says what?

I just don't have much interest in this fight for some reason (not b/c of the boring aspect, I dunno, just seems almost pointless).

and i agree with blockhead, toney tarver would be bad for tarver's health.
