Hush damn you don't spoil it. It's hilarious to me how easy it is to get these trolls panties really in a bunch
If you watched the same a los golpes i did on tv then youd know what was their consensus and besides that i brought whats on the bold up because that's what people say when confronted with facts like Lara edged it by landing the 5-1 power punches to the head, and not 73 body shots that some where partially blocked can negate that.A fight where a guy only lands 13 power punches to the head through 12 rounds and wins is unheard of. Their response is "but he dont deserve it cause he ran" .Such a vague answer when you said experts were calling it a gift I was expecting specific names.
I don't really watch TV so I went to ESPN(which I'm guessing is what you meant) watched Making the Rounds as well as A Los Golpes. Now the conversations were identical for the most part on both shows where they didn't feel like there was a clear winner. The consensus was that Lara did a good job of making Alvarez miss but didn't throw enough back to make him pay. The conclusion was the same as what most here are saying, it was a fight that could have gone either way they had no problem with Alvarez or Lara winning 115-113.The only problem they had was the wide score from one judge which was to be expected as it was an awful scorecard.
You seem a little to emotional in the bolded. Scoring is subjective there is no definitive way to score a fight it all lends itself to interpretation specially in a close fight where both fighter were able to neutralize each other. Like I said before no one is calling this a gift/robbery.Last edited by DannYankee; 07-17-2014, 11:10 AM.Comment

i watched a los golpes, and i didnt see any scorecards for anybody except the one on canelos favor, the others just said it was a close fight and they criticised canelo cuz they expect more from him and of course cuz chavez and his son were there,, but neither call it a bad decision, close fights cant go to either way, you should know that...if you dont then this isnt the right sport for you...Hush damn you don't spoil it. Yes their consensus was the same as everyone here that it was a close fight that could've gone either way. I don't see how that proves Alvarez got a gift? You initially stated boxing experts called it a gift yet you failed to provide any proof of that and your only references contradicted your argument. Paulie Malignaggi (boxing expert) even though he had Lara winning by a round had no problem with Canelo getting the nod. He admitted Lara ran at times and labeled that ineffective movement.Comment

Stephen "breadman" Edwards of Btalk made a good point on "ring generalship".
Ring generalship in boxing simply means who is controlling the action. The million dollar question is was Lara moving so much because he wanted to or because he had to. I thought he was doing well early also but Canelo as you pointed out came out smoking in round 4. I think Canelo hit Lara with something he didn’t like.
Lara started moving to a point where he looked frantic at certain points where as in the first couple of rounds he looked to have his bearing with more purposeful movement. Although Canelo was missing big I thought he was controlling Lara more often than Lara was controlling him so therefore Canelo was more of the ring general. I only say that because there is never a need to be 10 or 15 feet away from your opponent if you are the boxer. Boxing is not football where the object is to get separation.
You should always be in position to take advantage of your opponent’s mistakes. Lara didn’t counter a lot of Canelo’s big misses. I do believe defense should be scored also and Lara did show some good defense. But I also knew he wouldn’t get credit fighting like thatComment

I think Lara won but by the same token it was his fault to make that fight close, a few more punches and he would have had the decision a least with the two americans judges, martinez had his mind made up before the bell rang, as it is I'm down with the 115-113 scores and happy that Lara loss, his corner has to know what time it is and a least tell him, by the same token Lara needs to realize himself what he needs to do, the biggest fight of his career and he blew it, the funny thing he wasn't fighting hearns, leonard, hagler common ppl, canelo is not an elite fighter and every fight he had against and good opponent has show it, so **** Lara he should had done more...Comment

Meh. Saying that Lara moves because he was "frantic" is guessing. He moved a lot against Vanes and Freddie Hernandez. That's just what he does.Stephen "breadman" Edwards of Btalk made a good point on "ring generalship".
