He did gas in the Angulo fight though. Angulo wasn't able to capitalize because Canelo did damage early on.

Canelo was making a mockery of Angulo in the last rounds fighting with his hands down and inviting el Perro to unleash his power. He laughed at his power and landed plenty of combinations to seal the fight.

Angulo wasn't able to capitalize simply because he's not at his level and his power didn't faze Alvarez.

Personally, some might say for obvious reasons, I feel Lara will destroy Canelo but in the ring it's not about nationality.

Lara is all wrong for Canelo and although many base their predictions in both fighters contrast vs Angulo, their performance vs Trout is what should be taken in account here.

Mainstream really didn't give two shits about Trout v Lara up until the build up for Canelo v Lara. It's hard to give a round to Trout against Lara as El Oro was on point and rarely missed a beat in that fight. Canelo vs Trout gets all the wrong publicity. Open scoring had a huge effect in the overall outcome. A wins a win but we all know what we saw. Canelo barely squeezed by Trout imo, although the judges official scorecards make it seem otherwise.
