        Strange then that you criticize Joe Calzaghe for not travelling, even though he fought contenders in other countries like the US (twice) Denmark and Germany.

        Home country advantage can be very important. Sometimes home refs help boxers either by protecting them (like Ottke) or letting them use illegal tactics (like Ward).

          Kessler is an honorable man who doesn't need to resort to dirty tactics.

          With a fair and impartial referee, Ward would have been disqualified in the Kessler fight.

              when are folks going to realize that the super 6 tournament was designed to introduce the UK fighters to the America market. no one thought ward was going to win when it was created. Kessler was the favorite to win it all.

                      If he had close fights, then you could say yeah he benefited. But his fights werent even close, he wont them easy. He didnt need any ref or judge help. The location didnt matter.
