Saying that, I agree that Lara has the style advantage in this fight. That doesn't mean that he's guaranteed to win. It's a tough fight for both, especially if Canelo decides to be aggressive.

I'm still picking Canelo because of his power and speed. I think Canelo will touch Lara and when he does, I think Lara will be shocked as to how hard he hits.

I wouldn't say it'll be a mismatch, but Dwyer does make a decent case.

Years ago, when the Mosley-Wright fight was announced, I thought to myself, "Winky struggled with Bronko McKart and loss to Harry Simon and Fernando Vargas; Shane should take this." Boy was I wrong. Styles makes fights man. The unexpected does happen in boxing.

I say Canelo picked up something from the maidana-mayweather fight that he will do better against Lara than maidana against mayweather. My money is on canelo via a beat down

When Lara gets brutalized, I hope nobody calls him a hype job.

Canelo won't brutalize him by fighting in spurts. I know that much.

Even if Lara loses, there's no shame in losing to Canelo. Clearly, these are two of the very best.

Probably a year ago that would have been the case, but truth is that Lara doesn't seem to have improved much since he turned pro and Canelo has become a much better fighter in the last couple of years.
All this from a Lara fan, I look at it as a 50-50 fight with Canelo chances higher in the first half and Lara chances a little better if it goes the distance as Canelo tends to fade a little in the last rounds.

I think Lara was more developed as a fighter from the beginning because of the extensive amateur background.

Saying that, I do agree Canelo looks like a completely different fighter than he did just 2 years ago, he's learning on the job and taking the hard road.

I'm pumped about this fight, for whoever wins. It's a fans fight for sure and I'm interested to see what will happen.
