Thurman is likely the better outfighter, I can give you that. Not sure how well his footwork plays out against Miguel as the ring will become divided into smaller and smaller segments in the middle rounds. It'll get ugly then. One time ain't bout that life homie.

And did I mention he has the greatest jab of all time?

      Did I miss anything?
Mayweather and Klitschko have better jabs.

Do people in this thread know this isn't the fantasy section? 147 Cotto gives Thurman a damn good run for his money.

Not sure Cotto can make 147 comfortably any more.

That said, I haven't seen Thurman fight anybody good enough to justify thinking that Cotto wouldn't school him at a comfortable weight.

I think you guys are jumping the gun a bit with One Time.

He does have an ATG jab imo.

As far as boxing skills go I'd say world class. If they weren't he'd probably have done many a faceplant in the ring. He's never been KO'ed(counted out) so that should tell you something right off the bat.
Recently he beat Foreman, Mayorga and Margarito by simply boxing so I don't know what to tell you. If there's anything you can take away from this, atleast realize his accuracy is certainly impressive for being a pressure fighter. He doesn't overcompensate and at the same time he comes away with the W mostly, all the while securing a pretty high KO ratio. Thurman would get hurt bad.

Cotto is tough, no doubt. I have the utmost respect for him. God forbid I critique him? Did I say he was garbage? Did I say he wasn't a good boxer?

I said if you can keep him at bay, he's beatable.

Trout showed you can out craft him, and out work him. And Mayweather showed if you can keep him at bay you can pick him apart.

I just think Thurman has the tools to do one or the other (possibly both.)

And at this juncture of the game, there's no shame in losing to Thurman, or vise-versa for that matter.

Lol, i really love resding moronic comments from die hard fans of a fighter who downplays the other just to raise the level of their fighter.

Facts says that Thurman hasn't even fought a fighter below miguel's level so assuming that thurman k.o. Miguel in ww is a moronic statement.

I love the thurmanator but raising him as such might ruin his reputation. Lets just be back in reality and not in dreamland.

Cotto demolishes thurman, that left hook to the body will end it.!

This x 100. Barring any evidence otherwise I'd go with a healthy and motivated Cotto, who has an elite level resume, and who has been in with big guys that can punch.

I think Cotto would beat Thurman, Assuming he was comfortable at whatever weight they fought at lol
