The fact that he's always been a very big puncher and has a better KO % than someone like Pac, and actually has one of the better KO percentages of all the top champions today, makes no difference to anyone, least of all deluded irrational petty Pac fans.

Before his loss to Norwood. He was thought of as a power puncher with skill. He was called a power puncher though. Not a boxer, or counter puncher etc. he was considered one of the young power punching prospects in boxing. He moved away from that label over the following years, but he was still laying waste to guys, as he is today.

The other interesting thing is that in each of their fights, he hurt Pac more than anyone else did, nearly dropping him in each fight and certainly stunning and wobbling him. He just wasn't able to land that perfect clean counter punch on a rushing Pac until their last fight. Before anyone says "well that's because that was the fight he was with Memo in moron!" He was also with Memo for their third fight, and hit him with big shots then too. Just like the previous two he stunned him, hurt him, but couldn't land that perfect shot. Had nothing to do with gaining extra power. He just landed a perfect shot. It's really that simple.

Did you have a debate in real life about this fight? I think most level headed agree Manny literally leaped into the punch with one of his famous (or should I say vintage?) combinations.

Malignaggi often says something along the lines of, whether you realize it or not every boxer CAN punch and it DOES hurt.

It is possible that he was on PED's. There are some signs. JMM refusing additional tests against Bradley also looks su****ious. It is also possible that he didn't take any.

But one thing is clear. JMM's training for the fight was very different. He focused a lot more on strength. I assume more weight lifting type drills. Whereas, PAC did very little strength drills. Heredia, did factor in.

How they trained (ped or not) was the difference here.
