Comments Thread For: Garcia Says No Talks To Train Chavez For Golovkin

According to veteran trainer Robert Garcia, former middleweight champion Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. has not tried to retain his services, contrary to the rumors going around. There were some minor discussions at one point last year.

Garcia does stay in contact with Chavez. The two of them are good friends, but there are no talks, at least currently, of having Garcia work his corner.

    Nothing..

...will help this fat, lazy, privileged little f*** from getting totally owned. The pin point accuracy, power and subtle but effective defense of GGG will jack his ass. Thanks to God. I've had enough of this disrespectful little punk.

His dad said so himself, Chavez is fooling himself if there is no corner. That so-called head coach of his is his biggest downfall. He needs a real trainer otherwise he will not see much improvement during training camp.

GGG is going to destroy him. He has never had to work for anything therefore he decides to not train 100% so as to have an excuse after losing.

His dad is part of the problem. He was asked about Garcia on ESPN two or three months ago and he didn't sound too enthusiastic. He said something like "if that's what Julio wants, it's ok with me". Apparently, he dislikes García. They crossed paths at a television studio for ESPN program "Golpe a golpe" and they were polite but cold. Chavez sr. prefers another trainer and, as we know, he casts a long shadow over Julio's career.

Chavez wants Garcia as his trainer but he wants Garcia to go down to Mexico and train him, garcia was even contemplating of going but he decided not to.
