Golden Boy Promotions CEO, Richard Schaefer, views Amir Khan vs. Luis Collazo as a 50-50 proposition. Khan-Collazo will be the co-featured attraction to the Floyd Mayweather-Marcos Maidana welterweight unification on May 3rd from the MGM Grand in Las Vegas. Showtime Pay-Per-View will showcase both fights.

Khan (28-3, 19KOs), inactive since last April's tough decision win over Julio Diaz, will make the full move to welterweight against Collazo (35-5, 18KOs), a former champion at 147. Collazo is coming off the biggest win of his career, a January first round knockout of Victor Ortiz.

There was (so called) tournament at 140 last year, why don't they do one to fight mayweather?

I want to see khan and Broner and then khan and brook. I believe collazos going to stop him and end his chances for a mayweather fight but that doesn't mean he cant be in exiting fights and provide us with more unintentional comedy.

The pressure is on Khan

Had he fought say The Ghost or Broner (who declined the fight), i think Khan would have less pressure because they were high profile names

Collazo who is a far superior boxer than Broner in every-way especially at 147, is still a low key name, but not one to be overlooked


For Khan he really needs to take this threat seriously, because i am 100% sure Collazo is feeling very confident since seeing Khans last performance and off the back off a great win and he is a experienced genuine 147 boxer

If Khan loses, like ive said before he needs to get back with Roach and fight Brook

Question for my brethren on the forum. If Paulie is impressive in beating Porter, and Khan wins, but not impressive, against Collazo, who should Floyd Fight, Khan or Paulie? Neither is really a good look for Floyd. Both are less dangerous than Lara. I believe Floyd needs Cotto to win, and have Mayweather-Cotto II. Martinez would be good too, but we know the HBO/Showtime situation won't let that happen.

I hope khan gets knocked out. Mayweather should only be fighting the likes of Maidana,D. Garcia,Lara,Thurman,and Sergio Martinez. Mayweather absolutely needs to bet this khan crap out of here.

neither. The mayweather vs Martinez fight can be made.martinez network contract is up soon. They already put the question to Martinez about mayweather and golovkin. He chose mayweather. But he has to defeat cotto.
