Any boxing judges on this site??

OK I understand that some of them started when they were a few decades younger but It seems like at least 99% of boxing judges are like 50+. Could someone please explain why there are so many old people scoring boxing fights???

Most Boxing judges look like this:

Because it's mostly the same judges that get the call, aka the ones that score fights how promoters want them to score. A neverending cycle of payoff.

There are lots of younger judges - they just happen to be working non-televised events. You need experience and connections to make it to the bigger events.

veteran judges like jerry roth and tommy kazmarek judged some of the historical bouts such as the second leonard vs hearns fight, roth scoring it for hearns.

because they have been around for ages and been judges for the biggest fights for a long time, they will continue to get big fights.

all these people in these commissions are friends, look at how keith kizer defended cj ross. pressure from the cash cow mayweather led to both of those people "voluntarily" stepping down.
