Comments Thread For: Shaw Furious: Curtis Stevens is a Fraud if No Rematch!

PHILADELPHIA - Tonight at the Liacouras Center in Philadelphia, PA, Gary Shaw Productions middleweight contender Tureano Johnson (14-1, 10 KOs), was robbed of his opportunity to continue fighting with Curtis Stevens (27-4, 20 KOs) when referee Gary Rosato prematurely stopped the bout at the 2:09 mark of the tenth and final round.

I agree with the stoppage. the guy was out on his feet. He was barely defending himself. He showed pretty bad signs. It took him several seconds to realize the ref even stopped the fight. He lost. Plain and simple. Accept it and move on. Maybe stop hugging your opponent's space all 12 rounds and you might actually land some flush shots. vplp

Johnson deserves a rematch but I don't think we'll see one anytime soon. Curtis will move on and try to get a big fight again.

Shaw just paid a huge insult to his fighter by indicating his fighters head practically spun completely around by what he calls a fraud.

Ref could've given him a count but I feel certain Stevens would have finished him.

Johnson can come back from this, he might've endured something more damaging if he carried on.

Stevens would stop him sooner if they meet again he fought a poor fight if he would of used his jab at least once or twice or some turns to create a tad bit of space Johnson knows now he can be hurt.
