Comments Thread For: Team Rigondeaux: Forget Santa Cruz, Fights in Belfast!

Gary Hyde, the manager for WBA/WBO super bantamweight champion Guillermo Rigondeaux (13-0, 8 KOs), wants WBC #1 mandatory challenger Carl Frampton (18-0, 13 KOs) to forget about facing WBC champion Leo Santa Cruz in the United States. He says Rigondeaux, who previously fought in Belfast, is wiling go give Frampton the hometown advantage.

Its sad that Rigo has to beg for fights. He'll end up spending the majority of his prime waiting for opponents.

Lol... well i bet at this point rigo would give anyone the hometown advantage.

Get it made, i am just happy to watch Rigo fight, he might be boring but watching someone so good at boxing its really incredible for me.

So sad, as talented as Rigondeaux is, he will never get a multi-million dollar payday, at least not in the US. There is simply no superstar talent at a 122 lbs and Rigondeaux is just too small to move up to face more well known competition.

Not gonna happen. Frampton has a mandatory shot at Santa Cruz.

Rigondeaux is the greatest defensive/skill boxer I've ever seen. Yes even better then pernell Whitaker and Floyd mayweather Roy jones James tony just to name a few.
