I'm not sure if they are simply uncaring of the long term inability to sustain what they are doing in favor of short-term gain, or if they genuinely believe they can pull off some kind of monopoly in the sport.

This is true. The upcoming Bradley vs manny undercard is better then the floyd vs maidana undercard . Overall the match ups are more competitive and stylistically the guys matchup better. The canelo undercard was not good either.
