  • How would you rank these 4 Russian Fighters??

Provodnikov, Kovalev, GGG, and Evgeny Gradovich

How would you rank these Russian/Soviet fighters from best to worst??

How do you rank them in terms of boxing potential? Most people think these are the 4 hottest Russian/Soviet fighters in boxing outside the Klitschko's so I'm curious about what you guys think of them.

I'm not really sure how I would rank them....They all have their strengths and weaknesses.

Provodnikov - decent fighter. Good to watch, but very limited and beatable. Overrated power.

Kovalev - absolute monster. Imo one of the top 3 hardest P4P punchers in the sport atm. Decent boxing skill as well.

GGG - my one my favourites. He cannot be beaten at 160.

Gradovich - only seen him fight a couple of times and haven't been overly impressed. Need to see more of him to form a proper opinion.

      1. GGG
      2. Kovalev
      3. Provodnikov
      4. Gradovich

Here's his last fight against Billy Dib from the Pacquiao vs Rios undercard.

He looked very good here in my opinion...Much more dominant win against Dib than in their first fight....

Edit: Meh the youtube channel with the full fight got taken down for some ****** copyright infringement...Damn well here are some highlights from the fight....

They're not all Russian and I'm not a fan of your Soviet characterisation but I think Kovalev is the best of them, however I've only watched Gradovich twice.

Provodnikov is an exciting fighter but I think he's a little too flat-footed and defensively suspect to be rated as high as the other three.

            1. Kovalev
            2. Golovkin
            3. Gradovich
            4. Provodnikov

I think Golovkin is the most popular fighter but also arguably the least proven. One potential limitation of Golovkin is he doesn't back-up very fast when getting hit, he'll just absorb the shots. He'll probably get away with it at MW (possible exception of Quillin) but at SMW it's a dangerous tactic. When Kovalev gets hit he backs up fast, his footspeed seems better.

Yes I edited the title to say "Russian/Soviet" fighters as I know GGG is from Kazakhstan.

Now that I think of it GGG is probably the 2nd most famous person Kazakhstan has ever produced. But even he will never surpass the true number 1 Kazakh

                  Ggg

                  Kovalev

I'm a fan of Ruslan because of his mental make-up. Ggg is probably the most skilled. Kovalev most powerful. Ruslan and gradovich best stamina. All 4 are very strong willed. Gradovich most complete and diverse.

Golovkin isn't Russian by the way...
