In hindsight, was Canelo Vs Angulo a complete mismatch?

I'm a Perro fan but looking at it objectively, it was since the get go.

We ALL knew that the only chance Perro had would possibly come with his power.

Skills wise, we knew Angulo was not as a smart, as agile, as fast, as dynamic and as intelligent as Canelo is. Perro has always been one dimensional and Canelo has shown a more complete, all around arsenal.

Angulo is a good tough fighter but Canelo is exceptional and I never had any doubts he would do what he did to Angulo. Mayweather beat a 152 pound Canelo but I think it will be a long time if ever before Canelo loses again. He is only 23 and still improving. He has great hand speed and accurate combinations. He has KO power in both hands. He has a good defense and he takes a good punch. Angulo was counting on Canelo slowing down in the late rounds of a fast paced fight. It never happened and Cenelo kept beating him up round after round. The fight was stopped too soon but it really didn't matter. There was no reason to think Canelo would not just continue to land his bombs on Angulo if the fight had continued. Lara had a very hard fight with Angulol and was knocked down twice. Angulo never came close to winning a single round with Canelo.

That was a great gameplan, against an inferior fighter.

He rocked him with the first punch he threw, a big left hook. He then didn't give him an opportunity to get back into it by hitting him with a combo, making him reset, and then hitting him with another combo. Angulo couldn't get momentum or rhythm going. When he threw something, Canelo's defense dealt with it. Failing that Canelo took it without blinking.

I think a lot of people were banking on Canelo's confidence being snatched by Mayweather, That wasn't the case at all. It was an excellent performance regardless of what you think of Angulo.

You could say the same thing about Lara, and he was still on his last legs against Angulo.

Canelo doesn't out slick people, he wears them down and beats them up. There was no reason to believe he didn't stand a CHANCE of doing that against Canelo, Canelo just didn't let him. The fight was well matched.

Keep hatin though, folks. Pretty soon Canelo will be the Mexican Mayweather, no matter who he fights or how dominant he wins you guys will call every opponent a mismatch.

Canelo won that fight at the weigh in. ATG Snake frightened Angulo.

In both of Canelo's fights that gave him trouble speed was the issue. He is fast himself. UNderrated speed IMO, but speed gives him a lot of trouble.

It was a credible enough match on paper, but the whole purpose of the Angulo matchup was to showcase Alvarez at his best.

It seemed like a good match-up on paper but I don't think anyone expected Canelo to improve his game by such a wide margin since the Mayweather fight. He gained a lot of experience and it showed against Angulo.

It was a good fight imo, Angulo just got beat to the punch. Canelo looked good against good opposition
