Roy Jones Jr is the most economical puncher of all time. Compubox statistics indicate.

The reason he won all his fights....NOBODY LANDED.

With his style....Sheesh. All you have to do is land 10 punches in the round to win it. There were fights where guys landed less than 10 punches.

it is ****** to say that the less shots with bigger percentage wins it. Boxing is not that lame as to sink so low in mediocrety.

If this type of mentality is allowed to pervade, then fighters will simply sit back and watch each other's eyes.

Basic common sense that reward must be given to the one who has put more effort and has made the fight an interesting one. Fans pay hard bucks to see a decent fight and robbers and lame lazy fighters just destroys this sport.

I'd give all the points to effort. 500 punches thrown and 100 landed as opposed to 100 thrown 90 landed is an easy 10-9 round.

The only exception would be if the number of shots landed was very significantly higher than the others... so:

            Fighter A-100/80
            fighter B-1000/400

In this instance, it is clear that fighter A is being dominated... at the same time figher A also has a higher punch connect percentage... but because 400 shots were landed against the Fighter A's 80, it would be criminal to give the nod to Fighter A, even when he has the higher percentage.
            this should do the trick
