Yeah I think it's perfectly reasonable to not think Rios can make 140 after the Pacquiao fight. But it's certainly possible that this is a convenient truth for Arum n the circumstances. Those circumstances being Top Rank's small talent pool in the welterweight neighbourhood.

What else can you do with Rios though? He won't be a credible opponent for the winner of Pac-Bradley, or even the loser to be honest. Would Marquez fight him? I guess the rubber match with Alvarado must be what they're thinking about.

if that happens then forget Al Haymon...Bob Arum would have gotten Rios, after losing to Alvarado, a Manny AND Marquez fight...now THAT is some ****

No doubt. Rios kept insisting he could make weight for Murray and Abril, came in looking like death and still couldnt make it

Exactly! He needs a win bad right about now. Fighting Ruslan right now isn't smart. They're just looking out for him and themselves too Ofcourse. Lol

Right, that was my train of thought. He barely made 147, what the hell makes anyone think that he can make 140 in healthy fashion?

And to the bolded, I think that's exactly what's in store. Win, lose, or draw against Marquez I think Alvarado vs Rios 3 is happening

Dunkin is his manager so he obviously wants to get his man back on track, so I get where he is coming from.
Rios might win? Ruslan is the favourite but the outcome of this bout is far from certain, imo it's a 55-45 fight and a potential FOTY.

What's the alternative plan for Rios, let him knock over a can then rematch him with Alvarado? I doubt Bradley or Marquez would be interested in fighting him.

This is contrary to previous released statement from Ruslan Team.
