Floyd's grown up a whole lot since the Cotto fight. From the 24/7 and All-Accesses I've seen, he's much more calm and mature. He's taken on more of a role of a care-taker and provider than the party boy these days (a la Adrien Broner).

This is hilarious. I spit my beer out listening to this clip. LOL It sounds very weird and definitely unorthodox, but I kinda get Virgils angle now that I've watched him work in several corners the past few weeks. Its clear Virgil is a trainer who seriously believes that boxing is 90% mental and 10% physical. In between rounds, there can be allot of doubt going through a fighters mind, especially if the strategies he is trying to execute aren't working. That doubt can get louder and louder in the fighters mind as the fight progresses. That's where Virgils method (aka the fight whisperer. LOL) comes into play. He is clearly trying to speak in a way to connect mentally with his fighter to first calm them down and then reinforce ideas to block out the doubt. As funny as this sounds, I'd bet he's studied a little on psychology and probably some forms of hypnotism and is trying to implement some of its principals in controlling the mind.

Unfortunately, I think this is a very very specialized method that can only work on certain fighters with certain psychological tendencies. Ward in my opinion is the only one that understands him. Khan may be receptive too it as well. We will see in a few weeks. He got Berto in his camp and I think it'll ruin him more than he already is. Virgil completely broke Angulo mentally down with this approach. Angulo looked like he didn't even want to enter the ring, he was so mentally broken by fight time.

I wonder if Floyd Mayweather also gave a tongue lashing to his CEO Ellerbe, because as I recall Ellerbe was very unprofessional leading up to that fight.

Yelling obscenities, getting in Rosado's face, getting physical with Rosado, things you don't want your CEO to do. Hope Mayweather saw this, was embarrassed and took care of Ellerbe.
