Okay... We're going to play this game. It's no secret that Bob Arum has tried to smear Mayweather in the media ever since Mayweather left him. He did the same thing to De La Hoya. The fact that TMT was willing to negotiate with the enemy in the tower called Top Rank proves that they really wanted the fight while Pacquiao pretended that Mayweather was a nobody that didn't even deserve to have his name spoken in the same breath as his when Mayweather came out of retirement to face Marquez. Bob Arum even declared that he would never do business with Floyd ever again. Bob Arum put every possible roadblock in front of making that fight that he could. Bob Arum even walked away from the negotiations and refused to participate in the mediated portion of negotiations and had his son in law take over. This is all documented. At the end of the day it was Manny Pacquiao himself who actually balked at making any compromise, refused to even talk anymore and went on to fight Joshua Clottey instead. But Bob Arum has done nothing but prevent the fight from happening. Why would anyone try to do business with someone again after having to deal with such hostile and irrational behavior. Trying to use the failed negotiations as a point to say that "they negotiated with him before why shouldn't they now?" is one of the most illogical arguments I have ever heard. The failed attempt to negotiate with this tyrant in 09' could easily be the sole and only reason to never want to deal with him again and it would be totally legit. This mysterious so called second round of negotiations that supposedly took place where the money split was the reason why the fight didn't happen is something that shameless Pacquiao fans and dishonest media members have totally fabricated to try to legitimize themselves. I'm glad you brought up the jail time because wasn't it Bob Arum who claimed that Pacquiao would be fighting at the MGM on May 5th (Floyd's Date) and that they couldn't make a fight with Floyd because he was going to jail and when he got his jail time postponed changed his tune and said that Manny would not be ready because of a cut that he suffered in his previous fight that occurred more than 6 months previous and that they wouldn't have time to build a 45,000 seat temporary outdoor stadium? What happened to that? And Floyd Mayweather left Bob Arum and went on to face a better fighter and lineal welterweight champion in Carlos Baldomir for the same amount of money that he was offered to face Margarito. And using Margarito, the guy who has been proven to be a cheater and complete fraud, to make a point against Mayweather only makes you sound like a desperate haterSo the reason May-Pac didn't happen was because of Bob Arum? Hmm funny because I thought that Mayweather negotiated the first time with Arum and the blood testing was the issue? Then, the second time around the issue was the money split? Not to mention all of the retirements and the jail sentence.
And what was Mayweather's excuse for not fighting Margarito again? Oh wait, Floyd took less money to fight an easier opponent. That's not ducking either I guess.Comment
