Comments Thread For: Donaire Hints Unification Could Be Next After Vetyeka

Determined to use every opportunity to train while waiting for his father/trainer Nonito “Dodong” Donaire Sr to arrive on April 12, to officially begin his training camp, Nonito “The Filipino Flash” Donaire worked out at the Elorde Gym at Home Depot in Ortigas after an interview with ABS-CBN for a pre-fight primer on his WBA world title fight against South African champion Simpiwe Vetyeka in Macau on May 31.

Donaire shadow-boxed and then hammered the heavy bag with vicious combinations during which he demonstrated remarkable hand-speed which is expected to be a key factor in his title fight against Vetyeka.

donaire significantly slowed down when he moved up in weight. he's been hit with a lot of big shots in his last fight. he relied too much on his power and if he's not careful, he might just lose. i think he's already peaked and what he needs to do know is to incorporate a lot of movement and counter punching to last in the game a little bit longer

Gradovich is a Garcia fighter. He's willing to fight someone with the same trainer? Or has Donaire left Garcia permanently?

With those stakes might as well make it a ladder match for a Pro contract.

really wish WBA would kill that super champ crap
regardless, Vetyeka beat John, so he's got the top spot
Nonito beats him and he's the #1 at 126
would love too see him grab all the belts at 126
that Rigo debacle kept him from being undisputed at 122
he can get the job done at 126 if he stays there
