Comments Thread For: Khabib Highly Motivated For Jessie Vargas Defense

WBA/IBO junior welterweight champion Khabib Allakhverdiev (19-0) is currently in the final stages of his training camp for his April 12th defense against Jessie Vargas (23-0). The fight takes place at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, NV on the Manny Pacquiao-Tim Bradley 2 pay-per-view undercard.

BoxingScene.com was on hand for one of Allakhverdiev's recent training sessions at the Top Rank Gym in Las Vegas. The Russian fighter started his camp in New Mexico for two weeks before moving on to Las Vegas. He said that altitude was one of the key factors in deciding on training in Albuquerque and Las Vegas.

War Khabib!!! This is his coming out party.

I haven't saw much of Vargas, but I have said for a while Khabib could be the best 140lber in the world and I stick by that!

Khabib is just lucky, guzman was hurt....thats all i got to ssy about that, but with that performance against guzman,it doesnt convince me he could beat vargas....vargas is a much better boxer technically...khabib might have edge in power though, good fight imo.
