          Shumenov's power is real and it would be interesting to see him in there with Kovalev who jumps in with his power punches. I can totally picture Shumenov timing a punch and knocking Kovalev down or out like Marquez against Pacquiao. I think Kovalev's biggest threat is a counter puncher and Shumenov can totally play the counter puncher in the fight.

              not really. he's never knocked out anyone even halfway decent. he couldn't even hurt glass jawed campillo.

                Kovalev tends to jump in with his punches and if Shumenov times the punch perfectly like Marquez against Pacquiao, he can definitely at least knockdown Kovalev with a perfect counter and possibly have him seriously in trouble.

                  sure why not but that still doesn't change the fact that shumenov is a bum. bums can get lucky like baldomir against judah although that was really bum on bum violence.
