Race probably does have something to do with it for many fans. If you go back in time 20 years or more most of the best boxers from about 150 pounds and above were black and usually from the USA. Lately the fighters from Russia or countries that used to be part of Russia are making a very strong showing. Race doesn't matter to me. If I like the way a particular fighter fights and the kind of person he seems to be I hope for him to win. If the guy is an A hole I root against him even if he is an outstanding fighter but that is just me. The man's race or nationality has never been a factor to me as far as me being for him or against him. The best fighter will win regardless of race or popularity. Stevenson is one of the best fighters in the world today but I just don't like him and I think it is him who is keeping the showdown from happening.

I'm White and can't ****ing stand Stevenson. Not because he's black, but because he's full ****** and I don't think he's very good. I like Kovalev and him being White probably has a little to do with that. That's just the honest truth. It's the same with every black poster here going nuts over every up coming black boxer.

Now, why I really like fighters? I like tough guys who can ****. That's just the style I prefer. Most good white guys happen to be ****ers. Guess what though? I like Kirkland as much as I like GGG. And my two favorite fighters regard themselves as Latinos in Matthysse and Maidana.

So am I racist? **** no, but do I have a preference toward white guys like every other race does towards theirs? Of course, it's natural, but people are so ****ing "PC" these days they will never say it.

I think you are basing this observation, on the Kovalev-Agnew thread from yesterday, which was unfortunately invaded by racists.

I think most people want to see the fight, because it's a classic puncher vs puncher fight. At least that's the reason I originally wanted to see it. Now I would like to see Stevenson getting his ass beat because he is ducking. I don't want to call a boxer a coward, but why does he finally starts talking **** when he is safe in another network and the fight can't happen?

Going through multiple threads about this fight, you can't not notice that most black people support Stevenson and whites support Kovalev.

Kovalev fans want him to knock that ex pimp the fuck out and Stevenson supporters want to see that "racist", white Russian on the canvas.
