        Promoters are greedier than ever. These promoters don't want to split money with other promoters to make a bigger fight and risk a loss to their golden gooses. Promoters would rather take a percentage of their fighters and if one loses the promoter still has both fighters under contract.

        Example:

        Bob Arum gets 100% of the promoter's fee for Pacquiao vs. Bradley say it does 1 million ppv buys. Arum = 100% of 1m ppvs.

        Bob Arum would get 50% of the promoter's fee for Pacquiao v. Mayweather...let's say 3 million ppv buys. Arum = 50% of 3 mill ppvs = full percent of 1.5 m ppvs.

        We have to also remember that Pacquiao would only get 40% against Mayweather not 50%. Arum doesn't think it's worth it to risk Pacquiao when can make a little less money without having to risk a Pac loss.
