I could see Pascal fighting Kovalev. Pascal has never been afraid of a tough fight. He went to England to fight Froch, fought the best lhw at the time (Dawson) less than a year after moving up to 175, then fought Hopkins twice. You can doubt Pascal's stamina, technique, defense, etc., but he never gave anyone a reason to doubt his heart and desire to fight the best.
Yes, Pascal has the same promoter than Stevenson. But I actually think it doesn't matter. GYM would benefit from a Kovalev-Pascal fight no matter who wins. If Pascal wins, HUGE local fight with Stevenson. If Kovalev wins, a Stevenson-Kovalev fight gets much bigger than it currently is. In the mean time, Stevenson can fight the winner of Hopkins-Shumenov, and we can have a true unified champ at 175 this time next year.
I want to see Stevenson-Kovalev as much as the next guy, but if this plan can get done, it would be even better!Comment
