    Jhonny Gonzalez

When he's on, how good is he? Unbeatable at his weight class?

How technically sound and strong he looked (although for a short period of time) during the Mares fight, I don't see anybody beating him.

Obviously, that could change if he doesn't show up.

He is a good fighter, not a great one,,, he is like a glen johnson or izzy vasquez, can beat alot of guys, but just not good enough to consistently stay on top like a serg, floyd, ward etc..

Mares is undersized at feather,, he needs to be at 122 again..

I highly doubt jhonny would have beaten mikey garcia, or even donaire at 126

would love to see salido vs jhonny in the near future

Yeah I don't think it will last long unfortunately... very high skill level, natural length .. but like mentioned above he's fragile to the chin and would be in tough against other fighter. It's good that he's relevant again tho his style is great to watch when he's on

Ponce de Leon beat him and he received a gift vs Osejo before the Mares fight. He had to fight a nobody from Japan to look good again.
Unbeatable? I'd pick Salido and Gradovich over him. And Mares was not the best fighter in the division.

He's probably past his prime, but he was never great in his prime anyway. He was just a good fighter.

he's been around for a while. he certainly isn't unbeatable by any stretch.

punchers have a tendency to look disproportionately good. they don't take 12 rounds to win a fight.
