Bernard Hopkins vs Sergey Kovalev @ 175: Who wins?

I think The Alien hands this Russian a boxing lesson!

    Easy fight for Hopkins.

Y'all must've forgot! The Alien has built a legacy around dismantling scary punchers.

Stevenson does way better than Kovalev which would automatically justify the duck.

Seriously though, Hopkins is old but if he's still got it, I can picture him frustrating the hell out of Kovalev and giving him a boxing lesson. Its hard to tell because Kovalev has yet to really be tested. Of course, the Stevenson fight would have been a nice test.

      Hell yeah!

Cong**** for not buying into the hype served up by HBO!

Hopkins would put on a beautiful boxing lesson. It would be a thing of beauty.

i might have picked hopkins in 2008, but not in 2014. kovalev is not just power, he is incredibly dynamic. he has amazing instinct for range and all sorts of punches in his arsenal. far from a plodding, straight-lines fighter like kelly pavlik. he would simply overwhelm old hopkins.

i give hopkins a far better chance at beating stevenson, who is a lot more predictable.

Pascal dropped Hopkins twice early. I don't think Kovalev lets him off.

I said I can picture him doing that, I'm not sure. And you conveniently forgot to bold the part where I said "its hard to tell" because he hasn't been tested yet.

Have to give the edge to Hopkins because he is Hopkins and Kovalev hasnt faced the same level of opposition.

Saying it'd be easy work tho is childish.

At this stage, I don't know. Kovalev is not a slow puncher who tries to catch you with one big shot and then resets (like Pavlik, Tarver and Tito). He's an explosive puncher who fights at a high pace and has KO power in both hands. You can't count Hopkins out but it's a bad style matchup for him.

                    Wise man!

You must not know Hopkins well enough, my good friend. He has many, many tools in the toolbelt
