It's easy to make blanket statements even when clearly false.

As someone who has taken a liver shot in sparring I am in awe of how maidana got up from that. From his initial reaction I never would have thought he got up from that within 10 seconds if I didn't see the ten count.

Absolute nonsense. Everybody is weak to the body if you get hit in the right spot EVERYBODY!. The thing is it is difficult to land that perfect body shot. But that one khan hit chino with was perfect and for maidana to get up from that really shows you how tough that MOTHER****ER is.

Same reason Gatti did when Ward put him down, he's a tough mother****er!

So you're saying Khan didn't land easily on Maidana throughout? Wow the revisionist history on this fight is quite staggering.

Maidana is clearly wounded and moving slow all the way up until just after the first minute of the tenth round - he rises from his stool like a 90 year old man at the beginning of the tenth - and he catches Khan with a Hail Mary punch after looking terrible for the first minute and is unable to finish a clearly-ready-to-go-Amir Khan for another two and half rounds?? Yeah. That body shot had no effect at all.
i'm incredulous at your position here - at your not knowing how maidana fights - he's not fast, never was, he's a plodding murderer with determination for days .... aaas evidenced in his fight with khan. to boot, the cat can take a monster shot and brush it off, like he did, in this exact fight.

a hail mary? really, so it was a lucky shot? really?? christ. because maidana doesn't have abnormally long arms and weird angles? c'mon dude, watch some maidana fights. trend how this guy fights and see that he's in the mold of a margarito-type fighter. running around the ring with your left hand down, because you're TIRED and getting caught with an overhand right is far from a hail mary, it's smart. it's what you're supposed to do

and unable to finish khan in the 10th? if khan's demonstrated one thing over his career is that when he's not KO'd ala prescott, he can take an awesome beating kinda like cotto / m ward and wayne mccoullough.

he only felt that body shot when he went down and after the fight, the momentum of the fight and khans penchant to be something less than smart always had maidana in the fight. as someone who has been hit to the body countless times, i can assure you of this; the important thing being that khan never touched him to the body again.

Heart, determination...those body shots can incapacitate you for more than a 10 count, I thought it was over. At the same time, how can survived was something too.
