      Goes to show how many people give a shi!t about Fraud Jr. fights when he has no A list opponent. Either that or a solid undercard which this one does not. Canelo fight was a huge hit because it practically had a PPV worthy undercard with Garcia-Matthysse and it was, CANELO. I won't even go into his past fights but trust me, his opponents far out shined Jr. if they had sold well.
      Should have gone with Khan because honestly, when there is no other huge fight to be made (ahem, Pacquiao), the next best thing is a could of been that never lived up to his hype yet still contains a small fan base that still believe in him.

        Plus they didn't need to stack the undercard with big stars.

        If Floyd fought Maidana without and recognisable names on the card, Floyd would be lucky to do 500k

        Smoke and mirrors just like his career.
        When they start selling tickets for $1500 than we can talk and this live gate will triple what that fight will sell with 40k less people.

          Tickets were selling for that price and more at ringside and VIP packages.

          The MGM holds the tickets for their high rollers too, smoke and mirrors

            Since when was it a surprise to anyone that an event co-staring someone (Maidana, Robert) who is not as big of a star and household name as say a DeLaHoya/Canelo won't be as lucrative or shatter records?

            It's two men in the ring and it still takes two. 900+ buys is great for one man to carry on his name alone. Especially when it already had the hurdles of late promotion and both fighters not really making much noise during promotion. It's just that the expectation for someone like Mayweather means that anything below 1 million is considered a failure.

              sure Khan will be selling the entire PPV. Same way these guys Floyd fights always hit over a million when Floyd isn't involved :*******:

                It is considered a failure because Showtime takes a loss everytime Floyd fails to do above 1.3m buys.

                  I guess Maidana beating Broner barely helped selling this fight.

                      Khans been duped into fighting on Mayweathers sloppy undercard however with the extra exposure he might gain if he wins it could only do good***8230;

                      If he loses however I can't see where he will go after this.
