  • Unification bouts, why are they so rare?

It seems we rarely have unification bouts anymore, people say they want champions to fight champions but when they do people still seem to complain, why?

simply because being a world champion brings you more money. if one guy has all the belts, thats less money being spread around

Promoters are forming alliances with sanctioning bodies and if those promoters are not working together than there will not be any unification fights.

Ex-Bob is in deep with the WBO and isn't working with GBP. SO Tim (wbo champ, even though I think its a bogus organization) won't fight floyd (lineal, wbc) or maidana (wba) or Porter (ibf) because they are with GBP.

If that's the case it would backfire since out of all of the title fights Floyd has had, over 20, he's only unified two titles like twice. Kind of embarrassing really.
