Thurman is def taking a step back. Soto Karass which I thought was a good test for him, to this guy? Don't understand it but its business not boxing. That's what they should call it.

I was intrigued with Gary Russell and what he would do vs tougher comp. That's out of the door. Hope Thurman doesn't take the same path. But you heard it here. He's going to beat up on Diaz and then demand Mayweather to cash out. His hope there is for Kahn to lose to Collazo or Mayweather to shaft Kahn even if he wins.
I believe diaz beats soto karass..as far a test goes i also think diaz has far better skills then people givevhim credit for...i mean diaz is a former world champion who took shawn porter to the limit in 2 great fights, had khan reeling from every big shot in a fight alot of people felt diaz won...can soto karass beat khan or porter??i highly doubt it..everyone in here shiating on this fight dont know the heart and determination diaz has.....this is starting to sound like the week leading upto the garcia vs herrera fight where so called nsb boxing experts thought garcia was gonna beat herrera easily, and look wut happened there....they changed there tune, same shiat here, dont sleep on julio the kid diaz, hes gonna shock with hiz performance!!

Good fight for both guys,,, Julio Diaz gets a well deserved payday, and Thurman gets a beatable veteran that will give him a valuable learning experience..

I really like how they are taking their time building Thurman, who obviously has talent but is still learning his craft. I still think Thurman needs another year of fights like these before he targets the big names in 2015

I see this fight exactly the same. I don't get why there is so much hate/disrespect for Diaz. He's older, but he is a very solid fighter. Management-wise I don't think its a smart fight. If Thurman wins, he'll get no real credit for it, but if he loses, or even struggles, his marketability takes a big hit.

I wonder what message boards would've been like in the 80's and 90's.

These are the kind of stay-busy fights that a Thurman needs to take. Won't change a thing, will keep him active and down the line you'll see better fights.
