Birmingham's Frankie Gavin, 28, has been named as co-challenger for the vacant EBU welterweight title. Gavin, 18-0 (12), will meet Italy's 39-year-old Leonard Bundu, 30-0-2 (11), according to the EBU's latest championship notices.

Frankie Gavin and Billy Joe Saunders have been a pro for a while and still hav'nt stepped up from European level fighters - when are they going to step up fighting a 39 year old European fighter does nto teach anything but get another win on your record are these guys not good enough to fight higher level opponents?

39 or not, Bundu is a good fighter and a perfect test for Frankie at this stage of his career.

I think your complaint about not stepping up should be directed at Bundu, not Gavin. He's been stagnant at Euro level for years, Frankie is working his way up.
