Malignaggi hasn't fought anyone and he's had 21 fights. He should be knocking these guys out if he's gonna be a hall of famer. He could have a good career but it is far, far too early to be talking Canastota yet.
Is Paulie Malignaggi going to the Hall of Fame

This is a funny-ass thread. We might as well go ahead and induct Joppy and Tackie while we're at it, because that's what I see Paulie eventually being- nothing more than a tune-up to a big fight. I'm glad this thread was started as a sarcastic thread, because I've heard way too many people touting this guy this week.Comment

Originally posted by IwatchBoxingAlmost every fighter has losses, but they've been covered up. Zab still gets praise cause he has boxing skills, and can adapt, train, and come back. In-ring performances are highly overrated. Paul is a pure boxer, I think you rather have boxing reward Corales for not moving his legs than..Zab risked his career, for a small check against Spinks.
Corrales last fights in order: casamayor > casamayor > freitas > castillo > castillo.
Zab wouldn't (AND COULDN'T) do that. I disagree with your perspective that Zab "risked" his career by taking Spinks II for short money (100 grand). He SALVAGED his career. He had lost and he was in the dumps career-wise. He needed to get the visibility any way he could. There was little downside for him.
This is BOXING. I don't understand how someone can say "in-ring performances are highly overrated". What else IS THERE but what you do IN THE RING?Comment

Diego,
I was telling folks on another thread that this kid was overly hyped and they disagreed.
Can you believe that?
Manicotti beats Macaroni (or whatever their names are) and people are acting like it was the Thrilla in Manila. Or Louis- Schmeling. Go fig.
"too many people touting this guy" = hype.Comment

I was talking to this guy who kept raving about Paulie Manicotti. I asked him what he thought of Joel Julio. Hadn't seen him.
Boxing is reqwarding all the wrong things nowadays. Talk, marketing and self-promotion get more credit than in-ring performances.Comment
