I'd struggle to think of something (boxing-wise of course) to do with Floyd that is widely underrated among the fans to be honest. It seems to me as though everyone accepts his position as the most well rounded fighter of today, and that love him or hate him, he is great in the ring.

I would say the things that are underrated about him are the things behind closed doors, in the gym and training camps, things like work ethic and dedication/focus etc...We all know he works harder than most, but it tends to be overlooked due to his on screen personality and how many people dislike him for it etc...but as I said above, in a boxing wise, the man is a genius so I guess I would say that.

His ability to generate huge pop in small distances....

You simply dont see world class fighters often reacting to clinch blows, contrary to Floyd while facing the highest of highest level of opponents, they scream to the ref, they elbow, they push, they foul almost instantly when Floyd is in the trench touching, and poking away at them with clean shots; it demoralizes his opponents bad enough you have to worry about counters, when they finally get close those shots are hurting like they aren't supposed to. That touts punch precision and accuracy, and better pop than advertised.....

That Roger pad-work is the key to this close quarters punching.

punching power - he isnt a big hitter, but he is far from feather fisted as many like to claim.

chin - ever since mosley rocked him people have been saying his chin isnt up to par which is ludicrous. everyone gets hurt at some point when they fight at the highest level for as long as floyd has and mosley is a vicious puncher. those shots would have flattened most WWs, floyd can take one hell of a punch.

heart - dude reminds me of RJJ and leonard in that sense. both were called soft in their respective primes, just because they hadnt shown heart people assumed it wasnt there. being a good defensive fighter doesnt make you less tough though, it doesnt mean you cant digg deep when you need to. floyd is tough as nails, just like leonard and roy and when he needs to show it he always does.

body punching - floyd is so well rounded he doesnt use all his tools every fight. body punching is one of those things he often neglects to avoid being countered upstairs. but when he goes to the body he is an excellent body puncher. mosley didnt gas in 3 rounds for no reason, floyd took it out of him with a few hard and well placed bodyshots. then kept touching him downstairs to keep him from getting his wind back, he hurt DLH downstairs too and broke hatton with his work to the body. at the lower weights where he used it more consistently his body punching was some of the best in boxing.

figthing ability - everyone knows he can box but people often forget he can fight too. dude can thrown down with the best of them, he seldom does because he is smart enough to understand the best route to a W is using his un matched boxing skills. the notion that it will be easy beating him once you make things rough as some seem to think couldnt me more wrong though.

Also Floyd is more textbook come forward boxer puncher rather a boxer and mover, only like in 4-5(Castillo 2, ODH, JMM, Baldamir,Guerrero) fights Floyd was content on moving every other fight he was coming forward and was a headhunter for the most part. Only uneducated boxing fans call him a runner, but how are running landing almost 200 punches per fight, thats that wizardry of Mayweather skewing perception, looking at the offensive numbers on paper even skew perception so much that they are slighted when they come to Floyd. We all know Floyd has the GOAT defense by numbers, but what goes unsaid is he have the best plus minus in history on top of him leading that category in connect %.....

When you break Floyd down, there's layers upon layers, and truth be told like with the Cotto match where he was laughing and even slapping dap mid combo on the ropes, and backing off like 2 times when he had the kill in sight, that showed that even in the face of his toughest adversity it was another game and walk into the park to him, that goes to show what he shows most of the time aint half the talent he possess, he simply doesnt have a dance partner that can bring out that dog that lies within...........

I think hes stronger than people think, people think Floyd can't punch because he doesn't score many knockouts anymore but its more down to his style, he doesn't have Golovkin power but he definitely has enough to stun his opponents and make them back off.

                      Heart, chin and power....

Heart- Castillo 1, famoso, Chavez, burton, cotto fights

Chin- never been knocked down, and he has faced a lot of good punchers, may get dazed sometimes, but great recovery skills and stays calm under pressure

Power- if Floyd cut weight he would be fighting at 140 and at 140 and below Floyd has good power
