Did this jack ass just call Herrera a step down from Zab Judah, smh. ***in' company man, dude needs to put his big boy pants on already, he's looking like a puppet right now. The whole interview was disappointing. I miss the old Bernard, the one that kept it real.

Herrera was supposed to be just an opponent for Danny's Puerto Rico debut, nothing more. No one was picking this guy to win let's not pretend like Herrera was even on anyone's radar prior to the fight. So yeah, in that regard Herrera was definitely a step down in competition.

i gotta disagree with hopkins regarding garcia fight. but i understand he is being loyal. after all, he did get garcia a gbp contract and helped him with lateral movement for the lucas fight.

Hopkins was smart not to say anything about the problems at GBP.

lots of rumors about Golden Boy are floating around.

1st you got the rumors that the FBI are investigating GBP

          http://boxaldia.com/2014/03/10/el-fb...oy-promotions/

          http://www.elnuevodia.com/cincopregu...m-1736060.html

in this Arum doesn't confirm or deny the FBI investigation.

it seems the FBI story is trending in spanish language media but in english their has been slience.

second is the tension between de la hoya, schaefer and haymon

maxboxing does a good job explaining it

          http://www.maxboxing.com/news/max-bo.../a-golden-rift

personally I think De La Hoya is gathering non Haymon fighters like Canelo and Mares and jumping ship. Haymon is signing up the rest and will finally come out of the shadows to be a promoter publicly rather than hiding behind his "adviser" role.

to me it seems like hoya and haymon are splitting the company and leaving schaefer to deal with the feds and pissed off investors.

Most likely. My guess is it'll be a company run by Haymon, Schaefer, Mayweather, and Ellerbe.

edit: also with Stevenson signing with Haymon, and Bhop in this interview talking about being undisputed lhw champ make it clearer where the entire situation is heading. Oscar looking like he's going to be left out to dry

I don't think Haymon will go near Schaefer

in the maxboxing article it says

"investors are wondering why they haven’t seen much in the way of dividends with such a hectic and high-profile schedule"

everybody knows you don't have too many friends when people are looking to nail your az for not paying them their money.

think about it. if you invest in something and are promised a return and don't receive it. you can sue the F out of the person who isn't paying you

if the FBI is really investigating Golden Boy I doubt Haymon would want anything to do with that.

personally I think GBP is probably done. Haymon has a large enough stable to push on at Showtime. Oscar has been buddy buddy with Arum lately and will probably return to the TR fold at HBO. I bet Arum would even make him a partner if he could bring him Canelo, Mares and the other Mexican fighters.
