Comments Thread For: Malignaggi: I Will Nullify Shawn Porter, Take His Title!

Former two-division champion Paulie Malignaggi (33-5, 7KOs) believes he has too much talent, too much experience for undefeated IBF welterweight champion Shawn Porter (23-0-1, 14KOs). They will fight on April 19th at the DC Armory in Washington, DC.

Porter captured the title last December when he won an upset twelve round unanimous decision over Devon Alexander. Malignaggi bounced back from a close split decision loss to Adrien Broner, when he dominated veteran Zab Judah over twelve rounds in December.

Imagine if Paulie wins he would be well positioned in the mayweather sweepstakes come September.

It could be the second khan leftover to get the nod.

I don't know that I'd want him to be one of Floyd's last fights, but I would have loved to have seen Paulie and Floyd go at in in the gym for a few rounds. Paulie's got no pop, but he's got a good chin and he's a smart boxer. Still, people will be clamoring for the winner of Bradley-Pacquiao to be the next opponent and that's who it should be.

That would be ideal, but highly unlikely.

Magic Man, 38 pro fights...7 KO's lol. He makes Bradley look like a KO artist.

Paulie's tough as nails though. I could see him winning this fight.

Porter will win imo, he is the more hungry and focused boxer right now.

Malignaggi is with Showtime, while Pacquiao and Bradley are with HBO. Until the cable network politics are resolved, it's hard to see how Malignaggi can get in the ring with one of the other two.

and even then, I doubt a Showtime commentator is going to fight on HBO.

If Paulie got a shot to fight Mayweather or Pac, I'm fairly sure his daytime job allegiances will be out the window.

No way in hell is Pac or May fighting Paulie. Paulie is boring, he is not going to bring in the fans. A mayweather Malignaggi fight would be an absolute snoozefest. And no one knows this better than Floyd.

Porter looks way bigger and stronger than Paulie, especially at this point in their careers.
