Dang, Verdejo to be very active first half of the year

Verdejo will fight in Orlando on April 19th on UniMas and then on the Cotto-Martinez card on June 7th. 4 fights, 1st half of '14 #boxing

I wonder who they'll match him with on the PPV. I hope it's a competitive opponent

Last time Verdejo was on a PPV undercard, it was a total mismatch. All of his fights have been. At his level of development, he should not be on the televised portion of PPV undercards.

Well Cotto the biggest PPV star right now, Arum don't care as long as Verdejo has a stage to build on.

The comparisons will come pouring out afterwards

They will all be against nobodies. But better to be doing this rather then sparring in the gym

IDK where he trains but likely he spars better guys than he's been fighting the activity is good get used to pro ranks he's still very young I think but should be going against someone that can at least go rounds here soon.

He's still in the prospect phase, only been a pro for a year and 3 months. I think they're bringing him up well. He's getting a lot of exposure, and next year they can start matching him against journeymen.

I tend to skip this stage of fighters careers because opponents will be purposely overmatched, it's just not fun, it does not get me excited at all. I start watching when the opposition is at least intermediate.
