You've obviously put them at a massive weight disadvantage ensuring them not winning. Lara nor Canelo would be effective at 147.

I completely disagree about the weight, I think it's doable and not a huge disadvantage, definitely not any more than asking WARthysse to come up either.

OK, then if Canelo and Lara can compete at 147, why are they at 154?? Especially considering that the cashcows campaign at 147??

I'm just assuming Lara and Canelo are fighting at 154 considering they obviously can't make 147.

A 154 tournament would have been more interesting:
              Mayweather
              Lara
              Canelo
              Trout
              Cotto
              Molina
              Bonus: Andrade & Charlo

And probably easier to answer considering many of these guys have already fought each other or fought common opponents.

Using an direct elimination format it might look something like this:

              Mayweather v. Charlo

              Trout v. Andrade

              Lara v. Cotto

              Canelo v. Molina

A true welterweight tournament would have looked like this:

                Mayweather
                Pacquiao
                Bradley
                Marquez
                Thurman
                Maidana
                Bonus: Porter & Malinaggi

Using an direct elimination format it might look something like this:

                Mayweather v. Malinaggi

                Bradley v. Maidana

                Pacquiao v. Porter

                Marquez v. Thurman

I don't know, but if you are within 1-2 classes it's usually not a big deal to fluctuate 20 lbs, all the tools are still there as long as you aren't dangerously dehydrated or with a dangerously low body fat percentage or you put on too much muscle or body fat etc.

I wouldn't say it's not a factor but you should still be able to perform give or take a few lbs in either direction, any athlete should be able too.

I purposely left out JMM for what I think are obvious reasons (I dont want to encourage certain people to bring a certain dead topic up) And I didn't think Paulie would be as competitive so I reached with people in other weights but I consider weight the least affecting factor if it's a weightclass within reason.

Well being that both Canelo and Lara campaign at 154, Isn't safe to say that 147 would put those factors you speak of dangerously low??

Canelo barely made 155 last time out. Zero chance he can do WW and be effective.

But a GBP WW tourney would be awesome and possible to do.
