Minus a few...Marquez has maybe one fight left after this next one at most I reckon and the next one might be at 147, but he's done really.

Prov is now a champion at 140 so will be staying there for a while, and Garcia moving up opens up titles for Matthyse so it's likely he'll be staying too. Ortiz will probably retire, or at least not fight for some time now.

if im a 140 pounder with any kind of name/cache, id go ahead and move up to 147. Put my name in the hat for any consideration for a floyd or manny fight. Legacy and money wise, you cant do better at 140.

plus there are not really any big welterweights with shuddering power like ray leonards or tommy hearns at 147, most of them are really blown up 140 pounders so there really isnt anybody to avoid at 147 that should scare any 140 pounder.

Here's to Collazo putting an end to khan's career so we can stop hearing from his big mouth. Talk is cheap. Once upon a time I enjoyed watching khan fight. Now I can't stand him and his sense of entitlement. Good riddance!

That's very true. They really do seem to be mostly 135/140 pounders moving up rather than full blown welterweights. It's the era of 140 pound micro welterweights. Not too long ago, 140 was the place and division, but it seems to have died in the ass quite quickly. A lot of guys seem to have dropped off, lost their lustre, or moved up.

Sadly, boxing seems more about winning the Floyd sweepstakes than creating another great new era.

Took the words out of my mouth.......now the undisputed joke in boxing period!
I seriously hope like never before that Collazo or anyone flattens this complete fool..but then this one is so thick there will be more lame excuses, he and his like are truly terrible for the game ...Good riddance!

well winning the floyd or manny sweepstakes might indirectly create a great mini run at 147 if gbp and top rank can work together. if there was no floyd or manny carrot dangling in front of you, maybe some of these guys never move up.

still a lot of my premise depends on top rank and gbp ending their beef.

so, you are saying that garcia, a guy that KTFO khan, is ducking a rematch, so with that logic i can say khan is ducking a rematch with maidana since they fight was closer than his fight with danny (as i say garcia TKO khan while khan defeated maidana by ud)

I would like to see Khan tested at welterweight by a prime thomas 'the hitman' hearns and of course when he comes through that have him move up in weight to put the unbeaten John 'the beast' Mugabi in his place and then of course finish off Marvin at middle weight .....stick to cricket boys, your man is a joke!
