Good question. I assumed it was the use of the word "black". If he had said "African American" the reaction may have been different, but that would be overkill to most folk.

Simply put, it is a common term with an almost global acceptance that some people take offence to due to the racial stigma/history that is associated with the word "black", which is also acceptable, but using an opinion to force a point across isn't.

When I say "term" I am referring to the use of "The guy", which is a part of most cultures, as are the following;

The white guy
The asian guy
The fat guy
The nice Guy
The tall guy
and so on............

If everyone took offence to general terms we would be in a complete mess.

Sam Watson is a childhood friend of Al Haymon who has no skills nor abilities to get or sustain a real job on his own. He is a senseless hype man that lives off of Al's dollar. Because Haymon is very introverted and insecure he keeps Sam Watson up financially by making him the face of Al Haymon and having him in almost every boxing camera shot you see. The boys are his sons, Marcus and Brandon. They will run all the ***** errands for the fighters, harass the promoters for every nickel and dime the whole week of the show and essentially just scab off of the whole promotion. They only have any clout because Haymon gave it to them.
