The BBBoC have decided to postpone purse bids for Paul Smith’s mandatory Super middleweight British title defence against Rocky Fielding due to Fielding’s inability to make the championship weight for last weekend’s Commonwealth title fight with Charles Adamu—a 12-round decision win. Bids for the all-Liverpool encounter were due in by April 9th, but the postponement has left the mooted fight hanging in the balance. Smith, 34-3 (19), has openly stated that he hopes to secure a fight against WBO titlist Arthur Abraham later in the year.
