Comments Thread For: Miguel Vazquez Hopes Kevin Mitchell Deal Gets Done

IBF lightweight champion Miguel Vazquez could very well defend his title against British challenger Kevin Mitchell on the 31st of May at Wembley Stadium, where Carl Froch and George Groves will headline in a highly anticipated rematch. All 60,000 of the available tickets for that card were sold out within an hour after going on sale.

Vasquez should cruise, but you never know with foreign judges...

How on earth did Kevin earn a title shot.... I actually would be more interested in a Gavin Rees fight for Miguel

This may be easy in a relative way, but Vazquez has to work like always. He doesn't have one punch power, he depends on muscles and a lot of boxing trickeration. Spin and hook, shoulder to the face, make the ref work. It only looks easy, he is hard on the job. Too bad it doesn't look better. Dare I say it. Rigo has the same problem, Paulie..

Would expect Vazquez to win it comfortably, Kevin looks great right up until he steps up to world title level where he doesn't perform.

Vasquez, Rigo, Lara, they all have the same problem. They're painful to watch and therefore no network really wants them.

The major difference here though is that Vasquez doesn't cry about it like Rigo and Lara. He has no problem being on undercards traveling to China now the UK anywhere to find his fights.

Mitchells jab and speed could make it interesting for a while, but i think Vasquez will cruise after a few rounds.

He has a very 'rob'able style though so i hope the right guy gets the win
