Yeah i guess the ref thinks more about future job opportunities then strictly enforcing the rules.

Still wlad is embarassing the sport, in an inverted broner way. Broner acts like a ****** outside the ring but takes his beating like a man in the ring. Wlad act like a good guy outside the ring but tarnishes the sports reputation inside the ring.

Sure, he is not a horrible human being like that guy from Carcarias, Valenzuela, edwin valero, he is simply horrible for the sport because of the way he fights and the refs who want to turn boxing into wrestling.

I do partially agree with the OP because I remember the days when a heavyweight world title fight was something that you'd kill to see live but now, with Wlad, it's reached a stage where you'll watch the fight days later without a great deal of interest and maybe even skip through the rounds because of the dull repetitiveness.

But, I do have to say that Wlad is a highly skilled boxer in a number of areas, it's just that his style belongs in the lower divisions and he doesn't do heavyweight boxing any favors. I guess I can't blame him for fighting that way though, he does fight scared, but he's known to have a poor chin and the name of the game is hit and don't get hit. I suppose my main criticism of Wlad is the amount of clinching he gets away with - the Povetkin and even the Haye fight was just ridiculous and if Wlad wasn't heavyweight champion he may well have got disqualified but instead he didn't even get a single point deduction.

In effect, the referees allow Wlad to get away with infractions of rules which would otherwise even up some of his fights considerably if the rules were correctly enforced.

well he used to try and take guys out but he kept getting ko'd over and over again because his chin and defense were terrible so he had 2 options. develop a legit defense or prevent his opponents from throwing punches and hence grabimir klitschko was born.
